Saying no in German means choosing between two words, and the choice is mechanical. kein negates a noun that has ein or no article at all nicht negates everything else — verbs, adjectives, and nouns with der/die/das This category also collects the impersonal structures German leans on constantly: man for people in general, es gibt for existence, and the little constructions that express purpose — um ... zu and damit.
Persian negates by attaching «ن» to the verb — «نمیروم», «ندارم» — one mechanism for everything. German splits it in two, and picking kein where nicht belongs (or the reverse) is one of the most audible beginner errors. Quick test: is the thing you are negating a noun with ein or no article? Then kein. Otherwise nicht.
